The cheetah population is dwindling; some farms may be granted special permission to raise them; a baby is a rare thing to see.
These beautiful, gracious wild cats are an endangered species. The number of these animals ranges from 9,000 to 12,000 individuals. Today human reduce of the habitat of these animals and it is one of the greatest risk for these wild cats. Besides, these animals are rather prone to diseases.

These felines are rather unhappy in captivity because they don't like crowds and require larger than average habitats with no more than three individuals within their habitat. In captivity they can live up to 17 years while in the wild they live 10-12 years.
